LIMS
Users
benchsys-lab includes a flexible user-right management tool that can also be linked to the existing AD/LDAP system of the laboratory. A user can be linked to several roles that can be organized in a tree structure. Roles and users can be used in all workflows. A new role can result from a training activity.
Barcodes
All objects (methods, activities, resources, records...) of benchsys-lab have a unique identification label that can be used in a bar-coding system. In combination with the user-defined HTML forms, it is thus possible to set-up a multiple bar-code controlled ordering system where, for example, the association of sample, analysis and client can be easily verified.
Report
It is possible to generate a preformatted pdf file containing all or selected informations from any root (and its sub-roots) in the trees of methods or activities. The same information can be also exported in XML format. It is also possible to link Microsoft Office and LibreOffice templates with methods that are copied in its activities. Thanks to an esay tagging mechanism requiring no programming, these templates are automatically filled with data from benchsys-lab at starting or termination of an activity.
Taxonomies
Taxonomies can be easily imported, defined and managed in benchsys-lab. They are used to tag all objects with a controlled laboratory-dependent vocabulary. For life-science laboratories, benchsys-lab also contains the MESH taxonomy and a semi-automatic tagging engine that helps to create links with entries in PubMed.
ChemAxon
benchsys-lab includes a link to the ChemAxon chemical software toolkit via its JChem database.
